What is Darby Smart?

Darby Smart is a video shopping platform where millions watch, shop and chat about creator video content and products. Everyday, people use Darby Smart to learn, shop and be inspired. Creators love Darby because they can showcase their content and connect with other creators, millions of viewers and brands (Sephora, Warby Parker, FabFitFun, Huda Beauty, Michael’s, Tombow and more!)


How do I get started creating on Darby?

It’s easy to get started!

  1. Get the free Darby iPhone app in the App Store.
  2. After the intro, tap the Create green icon at the bottom.
  3. Upload an existing video from your phone or create a new clip if you’re feeling inspired!
  4. Add a relevant category, title, description, tags. If you used any products in your video you can also tag the brands. 

If you have over 20 videos on another platform, we are happy to bulk upload them to Darby for you. Just email uploads@darbysmart.com with a link to your social profile with the videos.


How do I grow a following on Darby?

Tip #1: We recommend that you add as many videos as you can over your first month so our community recognizes you as a new creator to follow.

Tip #2: Post regularly! Our most popular Darby Stars post 1-3 times per week.

Tip #3: Be sure to add as much relevant info to your video as possible. This helps your video get surfaced in relevant searches both on Darby and on internet search engines.

Tip #4: Promote your Darby profile and videos on your other social channels. One easy way is to turn on auto-sharing at the end of the video create flow.


How do I get featured?

Once your video is posted our community of viewers can find you, follow you and <3 your videos! Videos on Darby reach millions through the Darby app and website. We also feature the most popular videos and creators on our Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Pinterest, and Apple News channels. The more videos you post on Darby the more exposure you get!


I don’t have an iPhone, can I still create on Darby?

We unfortunately only have video create in our iPhone app right now but are hoping to build web upload capability soon!

In the meantime, if you have over 20 videos on another platform, we are happy to upload them to Darby for you and link to your Instagram, YouTube, or Twitter. Just email uploads@darbysmart.com with a link to your social profile with the videos.


I don’t have any videos. How do I get started with Darby?

If you’re new to video, Darby is a great place to start. Many of our current top creators were also new to video before joining Darby and now they love it. Our tool in the app makes it easy to record clips, speed them up, add text, etc. Check out the free iPhone app here. Are there paid opportunities on Darby?

Absolutely! Through our Darby Gigs program we build partnerships with brands like Warby Parker, FabFitFun, Shopkick and more. You can see our current Darby Gigs here.
